Modular vs. Building Onsite
A modular is built to the State of Michigan Building Code. Essentially, it is a site built house built off site. The advantages of having the wood structure portion of the home built in an environmentally controlled atmosphere are many. For starters, there are no rain delays! Everything happens on schedule and as planned. Your wood materials never get rained on and therefore the fear of mold is eliminated. Each portion of your home is inspected before the following step is taken, ensuring extremely tight quality control where mistakes can be corrected prior to any further progress. At the end of this process there is yet another final inspection in which a representative from the State of Michigan certifies that the home meets or exceeds all of the current building codes within Michigan.
The costs savings of a modular verses building a home on site are incredible. By taking advantage of using a modular manufacturer to build the home, we gain access to the massive purchasing power they have when buying materials such as wood, windows, doors, shingles, cabinetry, carpet, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, and everything else right down to the smallest hinge or nail used. These cost savings are passed onto you!
